Everything we teach in Winslow, we teach online: 11+ Transfer Test preparation for Years 4 and 5, and Maths and English for Years 1 to 6. Live, never pre-recorded, in the same small groups and at the same all-inclusive fee.
Live, Never Pre-Recorded
Taught by Mat and Alicia in real time. Your child can ask a question and get an answer, which is the whole point of a lesson rather than a video.
The Same Plan as the Room
Online lessons follow the same plan as the in-person group that week — the same method, the same worked examples, the same homework.
The Same Small Groups
Never more than six pupils, and sessions of four or more are taught by both of us. Online does not mean a bigger class.
The Same All-Inclusive Fee
Homework, online resources, weekly parent notes, termly progress reports and all 11+ mock assessments are included, exactly as they are in person. Online 11+ pupils are posted their personalised equipment pack, so they work from the same kit as the group in Winslow; everything else is shared online.

What does my child need to join a lesson?
A laptop, tablet or desktop with a camera and microphone, and a reliable internet connection. A second screen is not needed. If your child is preparing for the 11+, we post their personalised equipment pack out — number line, timer and pencils — so they have the same kit as the group in Winslow. Everything else is shared online, so keep paper and a pencil to hand: we would much rather your child worked things out on paper than tried to write on screen.
Is an online lesson as good as being in the room?
For most pupils it is very close, because the thing that makes our lessons work — a method taught explicitly, then practised — travels well. The honest exception is a child who finds it hard to stay with a task without an adult beside them. If that sounds like your child, come to Winslow if you can, and tell us either way when you enquire.
Do you teach online outside Buckinghamshire?
Yes. Our 11+ teaching is built around the GL Assessment Transfer Test used in Buckinghamshire, so it suits families sitting that test wherever they live. Our Maths and English tuition follows the national curriculum and suits any pupil in England in Years 1 to 6.
Does an adult need to be there during an online lesson?
Yes. A responsible adult must be present or contactable throughout the session, as our Health and Safety Policy requires — a condition of the lesson rather than a preference. With younger pupils we also ask that you stay within earshot. Beyond that you are welcome to watch as much or as little of the teaching as you like.
What happens if the connection drops?
Rejoin — we carry on. If a lesson is lost to a problem at our end we do not charge for it, and we will offer catch-up materials or a place in another group that week. If the lesson cannot go ahead because of your child’s device or internet connection, the session is chargeable, because the time has been held for them. We can waive that at our discretion, so tell us what happened and we will look at it.
